Application and Registration

Important Dates

All grants and all accommodations have been assigned. Applications are still possible and will be conditionally accepted based on availability.

Deadline for registration at early fees: July 9th.

Starting from July 10th late fees apply.

Deadline for application: May 31th, 2017 (extended) 
Notification of acceptance for participation and grants: June 12th, 2017

EDBT Summer School: September 4th-8th, 2017

Who can apply

The target audience of the school is graduate (MSc & PhD) students, post-doctoral researchers, and academic and industrial researchers and developers. The school will be open to about 100 qualified, motivated and pre-selected candidates.

Participants will be selected according to the order of application, the quality of the submitted request and the institution of provenance to ensure a balanced group of people. Students will have to send a copy of their student card at registration time once they have been accepted to the school.

Fees and grants

The school fee depends on your status and the type of accommodation you choose (assigned on a first come first served basis), according the following table. Proposed accommodations are in rooms to be shared among school participants.

The fee includes all courses, hand-out material, lunches (Monday to Friday) and dinners (Monday to Thursday), coffer breaks, social events, and, if accommodation is included, lodging for 5 nights.

A limited number of grants, offered by our sponsors, covering school fee only or school fee and accommodation, will be available. Those interested in school grants must give arguments when filling the application form (see below). Grants will be awarded based upon the background, the cv, and the economic development level of applicant institutions.

How to apply 

You should fill the form available at the application site by May 31st, 2017. Application acceptance will be notified by email by June 10th, 2017. The confirmation email will also contain information about grant assignment and the type of accommodation we can offer you.

How to register

If your application is accepted, you should follow the instructions contained in the acceptance confirmation email and proceed to register your attendance by July 1st 2017 (extended) July 9th, 2017.
